Our Story
Meet Tina Wright — Founder & Inventor of The Heel Sling
Tina loved beautiful shoes — but hated the feeling of walking out of them.
As a young professional, she invested in designer heels only to have them slip off her feet while walking. She bought every “fix” on the market: gel inserts, foam cushions, silicone grips, adhesive pads. They peeled. They shifted. They wore out. And none of them kept her heels securely in her shoes.
Nothing worked.
So she settled for less — wearing open heel shoes and mules to the office because they were the only shoes that stayed on.
Then her toddler daughter started struggling with the same problem. Unless her shoes had a strap (ie, a Mary Jane), they slipped right off. That’s when everything clicked.
“Maybe the solution isn’t padding the shoe…
Maybe the solution is to cradle the heel.”
Tina started experimenting with her daughter’s shoes. After countless prototypes and testing, she created something completely new — a gentle sling that cradles the heel inside the shoe, holding the foot securely without changing the fit of the shoe itself.
And that’s when The Heel Sling was born.
