I thought this price was expensive when I bough ordered it. But after getting it and using it for a few weeks, it now feels like a great value (!). First impression: came packaged carefully in thick foam padding in a cardboard tight box and felt solid and well packed. The item in your hands is more solid and heavy than it looked in photos. Feels heavy, tight, like a high quality engineered audio component item. Set up was effortless and near instant, the app is clear and simple, no fluff. I love to see it glowing and surprise myself recognizing old album art. You can change the brightness which is cool. Display is definitely lo-res but that's the aesthetic, it's grown on me.

Our Story

A Home-Built Gadget Now Available All over the World

I created the first Tuneshine prototype while experimenting with electronics during the pandemic, and based on the response I got from my friends I decided to quit my job and start working on it full time. I made the first 1000 units in my apartment before I started to get too many orders and found a company in Chicago which could manufacture Tuneshine. I think it's important to have gadgets that don't demand our attention—just little things that make us smile when we see them around the home. The little touches that make Tuneshine unique—the lo-fi screen, the wood case—help ensure that it feels familiar and personal, not mass-produced and anonymous. I also love running a company that lets me have personal connections to my customers—I respond to every customer email personally!
