How do I apply Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape?

Ensure skin is dry and free from oils, locations and hair. Do not touch adhesive with your fingers. Gently rub the tape after applying to activate the adhesive. You can shower/bathe as usual. Carefully dab off any remaining dampness from tape using a towel. Test a small piece of tape on your skin prior to usage, if irritation or itching occurs, remove the tape immediately. Do not expose tape to any kind of water or moisture until the product has been applied for 30 minutes.

How do I cut Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape into smaller strips?

Please only use the dispenser to cut the strip at the 10in perforated end. DO NOT use the dispenser to cut the tape to a smaller size. If you would like to cut the strip of tape smaller than 10in, please carefully use a scissor to cut the strip to your size of choice. After cutting the tape to your desired length, be sure to cut the edges of the tape so that all of the corners of the strip are “rounded” edges.

When can I start using Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape?

Begin using Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape as soon as the wound has fully closed (e.g. skin is healed and there is no oozing, crusting or irritation in the area). Treatment with Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape for post-surgical scars may typically begin approximately 1 week after stitches or staples are removed or when cleared by your physician or surgeon for use. For existing scars, as long as your skin is intact and no wounds or irritation is present, you may begin using immediately.

When should Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape be replaced?

Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape can stay on for 3-5 days. If Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape is sticking and adherent to the skin, do not change it. If it becomes loose, replace it with a new piece and apply it according to our suggested guidelines. After removing the Scar Tape please allow a 12-24 hour break before reapplying. Certain applications or environments may require more frequent changes due to high mobility, cleansing routine, hair growth, humidity or oil level on the skin.

The edges of my Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape are no longer sticking to my skin?

This can happen for a variety of reasons, and is easy to fix! If the adhesive around the edges of your tape starts to wear off, the corners may lift up a bit. When this happens, simply just cut off the lifted edges and continue to wear as normal. As long as the actual scarred area of the skin is properly covered it is fine. Certain applications or environments may require more frequent changes due to high mobility, cleansing routine, hair growth, humidity or oil level on the skin.

Can I swim, shower or exercise with Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape on?

Please not this is not water-proof, only water-resistant. Prolonged exposure to water such as swimming may cause the adhesive to loss strength. You may use Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape during exercise, our tape material is designed to mimic the elasticity of human skin and muscle, allowing it to move with your skin's movement. Motivo Scar Care - Scar Tape supports and stabilizes your scar without compromising healthy ranges of motion.
