Toothpod was born from a shared vision between Vishar Yaghoubian (CEO) and Brian Webb (CTO) at the University of Toronto. While studying Health Sciences and Psychology, Vishar was struck by a startling reality: despite centuries of toothbrushing, dental decay remains the most common chronic disease worldwide. Driven to find a more accessible solution, she teamed up with Brian, a PhD candidate, to move the product from kitchen-counter experiments to a professional formulation. Their journey through top Canadian accelerators—including the Entrepreneurship Hatchery and H2i—has earned the company over $1 million in funding and support from industry leaders like the former CEO of AstraZeneca Canada.
