FAQs
What kind of moss is this?
The type of moss is frost moss. The scientific name is Racomitrium canescens (Hedw.) Brid. It is also called sun moss or sand moss.
What should I do if it's too damp?
Frost moss does not thrive in overly moist conditions. Unlike plants with roots, moss absorbs water/CO2 through the entire surface of its leaves, and excessive moisture can negatively affect its metabolism and growth. If the moss becomes too moist from misting, it is recommended to detach the moss panel, dry it separately, and then reinstall it.
Will bugs not occur?
The moss filter undergoes quarantine after completely removing soil, which is conducive to insects breeding, so it's difficult for bugs to infest. Since the release of the moss frame product in September 2022 in Korea, we have not received any claims about bugs infesting the moss frames.
How long does moss typically live?
The typical lifespan of frost moss is about 5-10 years. However, just like any plant, its lifespan can vary depending on the surrounding environment and care.
Do I need to water the moss like normal plants?
The roots are just rhizoids that support the structure, and the vascular bundles are not well-developed, so the entire moss absorbs water and nutrients. With MossAir's mist, it can grow sufficiently. An overly moist environment can harm the moss's growth, so please avoid misting too frequently.
There is a delay when switching from terrarium mode to humidifying mode, what should I do?
When switching from terrarium to humidifying mode, a 'Moss Growth Safety Mode' is activated, which may cause a delay of about 10-20 seconds before transitioning to humidifying mode. This is a control system to prevent moss from becoming too moist, providing an optimal environment for its growth. Please wait a moment for the humidifying mode to activate and rest assured.
When charging from a discharged state, the LED turns green and stops charging, then the humidifier stops spraying. What should I do?
If the battery indicator turns green, it means that the battery is more than 80% charged. Occasionally, when current flows in a discharged state, the green light may turn on in a short time, so it is recommended to charge for about 5-6 hours when you first open the product and charge it.
The moss falls off easily. Does it normally do that?
Since the moss filter is a living plant, it's natural for some spores, leaves, etc., to fall off. It is harmless to humans.
I have charged it, but the power doesn't turn on. What might be the problem?
Using a fast charger (5V/3A or higher) may damage the product, and there is a risk of damage. If the power does not turn on after charging for about 4-5 hours in a discharged state, please call customer service.
The moss appears brown. Isn't it withered?
The moss is a living plant. Therefore, the color of the moss may change with humidity, temperature, and season, which is a natural phenomenon. However, in the case of the moss filter, the body of the moss may appear brown due to being highlighted.
The humidifier turns off a few minutes after turning it on and switching to humidifying mode.
Please soak the entire cotton filter for at least 30 seconds and fill the water tank sufficiently before operating the humidifier. If it still doesn't work, please call customer service.
