Our Story
Meet Melissa!
My name is Melissa and I live in Seattle, WA with my husband and two little ones. I founded OtterSpace after struggling to get our kids to fall asleep during long Summer days when the sun sets late and rises early.
My kids were waking up VERY early with the sun peeking around their blackout curtains. It felt impossible to find a blackout option that blocked all light bleeds to create a very dark sleeping environment. The lack of options led us to tape aluminum foil to the windows for the majority of the year, which meant my kids were essentially living in a dark cave at all times.
I was determined to create something better. After two years of development, we are so excited to share our new blackout curtain technology that:
