Is PebbleGrip an alternative to oven mitts, dishcloths and silicone covers?

Yes but it is more than an alternative to oven mitts, dish cloths and silicone handle covers! It's the best alternative and most effective solution to the age-old issue of hot cookware handles and scorched fingers. We believe that hands should be free to mix up meatballs and sip wine, not be trapped in an oven glove. Dishcloths and silicone covers offer no grip, no insulation, and always get in the way. Unlike these traditional tools, PebbleGrip is versatile, heat-resistant, and easy to use.

Do I need both hands to use it?

The beauty of PebbleGrip is that it's a one-handed wonder. Once it's clipped on, your hands are free to pursue all sorts of culinary (or non-culinary) adventures. What size handles can I use my PebbleGrip with?

Our nifty ratchet system adjusts to fit handles of any thickness and size. If you ever find yourself with a larger handle or surface, simply turn PebbleGrip diagonally on the corner – problem solved! You can even use it on baking trays and most pot lids.

Can small hands use it?

PebbleGrip welcomes hands of all sizes! Our user-friendly mechanism doesn't require Hulk-like strength or NBA-player reach. Even petite hands can easily place PebbleGrip over a handle and press the outer casings together. The key is being able to reach both release buttons simultaneously - just use your thumb and middle finger across the top. Unlike other grips where your strength limits what you can handle, PebbleGrip does the heavy lifting, empowering everyone to cook confidently.

How much heat can it handle?

The silicone grips handle temperatures up to 428°F/220°C. That's hotter than your average cup of coffee (which you can now safely sip while cooking, thanks to your free hands)! The outer casing can take heat up to 208°F/98°C, while the clips can handle up to 248°F/120°C.

Is it safe to leave PebbleGrip attached? Is it stovetop specific?

While PebbleGrip is a pro at blocking heat from the direct source, it's not a miracle worker. It can't eliminate all the surrounding heat, like from an overzealous gas flame or the sauna-like environment inside your oven. It's safe to leave attached on most stovetops – electric, induction, or convection. For gas stoves, if the flame is properly sized to your pot, PebbleGrip can hang out. But if the flame's licking the sides of your pot, it's time for PebbleGrip to take a break.

How do I use it?

Clip It: Place it over the cookware handle while it's in the open position. Grip It: Close PebbleGrip by pressing the outer casing halves together. Hear that satisfying grrr? That's the sound of safety, my friend! For maximum grip, press the casings over each individual ratchet. Move It: Go ahead, move that hot pot like you're walking on the culinary red carpet. From stove to table, you're unstoppable! Release It: Just press both release buttons simultaneously.

How do I wash it?

Cleaning PebbleGrip is as easy as pie (or as easy as wiping the pie crumbs off your countertop). Since PebbleGrip doesn't come into direct contact with your food, a quick wipe with a damp or soapy cloth usually does the trick for the casing. For a deeper clean, remove the silicone grips from the casing and pop everything into the dishwasher on the top shelf. Once cleaned and dry, reassemble PebbleGrip by pulling the front lip of the silicone over the ridge on the casing for the best results!
