How do I get the best results?

Use SLOTDOG on cold, firm, casing-free hot dogs straight from the fridge. Slot both sides to help prevent curling and ensure even cooking.

Can I use it on sausages or brats?

No. It is designed only for ordinary skinless hot dogs. Natural or collagen casings are too tough and may cause tearing.

How long does slotting take?

Both sides can be completed in about 8 seconds with a simple push–pull–flip–repeat motion.

Why do the slots matter?

What if I don't have a BBQ Grill?

The SLOTDOG Hot Dog slicing tool was invented by Dan Crichton, who after watching street vendors cut slices in their hot dogs, started experimenting at home. This resulted in his signature criss-cross sliced hot dogs, which became an instant hit with family and friends. 

Unfortunately, he had to manually slice every single hot dog each time. This took forever, wasn’t very safe and slicing them perfectly was nearly impossible. This led to him thinking there must be an easier way! 

So he designed, produced, and launched SLOTDOG in 2013. Introducing the world to the benefits of a slotted hot dog.
