If cared for properly, your Ballast outdoor pillow should see you through several beach and camping seasons. Here are some important tips to keep in mind. Use Your Pillow On a Blanket Or Towel Be sure to protect your pillow from sharp objects, and this includes broken shells, twigs, and craggy rocks, that can sometimes be found in sand. For this reason, we encourage you to place your pillow on a towel rather than directly on the sand itself.
How do I clean my Ballast outdoor pillow?
The Ballast Beach Pillow is not machine washable, but cleaning it is easy. You can spot clean the fabric with warm water and a cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, shut the air valve and submerge the pillow in soapy water, kneading it gently with your hands. Rinse the pillow in clean water to wash off all soap residue. Be sure to let the pillow air dry before storing it away to prevent mold or mildew from forming. Never dry the pillow in a tumble dryer as that will damage the pillow.

Hi, fellow beachgoers. My name is Brian, and I’m the creator of the Ballast outdoor pillow. The first and only pillow designed for use at the beach. I spent several years wanting a beach pillow, and wondering why one didn’t exist. I knew a traditional stuffed pillow wouldn’t work, as it would get ruined in the salt water and sand. And inflatable outdoor pillows are so lightweight, they’d get blown away on a windy beach. That’s when I got the idea for the Ballast outdoor pillow: a soft, weather resistant pillow with an attached pouch that you can fill with a small scoop of sand to temporarily weigh it down. Voila! This simple, nature-inspired, solution allows us to have what we’ve always wanted. We’re on a mission to make the beach more comfortable, and life more relaxing.
