We hope you love GRILLKILT. But you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, unused, folded, and in its original packaging.

Is the original GRILLKILT actually a kilt?

The GRILLKILT is not a traditional kilt nor a typical apron. Traditional kilts are typically made of wool, have pleats, and aren't meant for grilling. The GRILLKILT is made of cotton (Except our tartan plaids which are made of a breathable polyester), features pockets instead of pleats, and is made specifically for grilling.

Are there different size options?

The Original GRILLKILT is "one size fits most." The waist belt can be sized from 30" to 60". The included material in every GRILLKILT order can be sized and adjusted to allow complete waist coverage of up to 46". If you want complete 360-degree waist coverage in the rear, and are between 46" and 60", simply order additional rear panels that are sold separately, in pairs, and in matching colors. Each panel provides up to 6" of additional waist coverage.

Is it comfortable?

Absolutely! It is more comfortable that your favorite pair of shorts. The GRILLKILT is made of soft, comfortable, breathable 100% cotton (except our polyester Tartan model) fabric. You can wear it with or without the rear panels and you can wear it over your pants/shorts/swimsuit/underwear or skin. Fatherly.com says "If it is a kilt you grill in, it's hotter than an episode of 'Outlander.'" (...but they aren't talking about temperature). :)

Is the GRILLKILT washable?

Yes! The fabric is made of 100% cotton, except Tartan which is 100% polyester. All are washable in cold water. However, there are components (plastic clips and hook and loop) that may shrink or discolor if exposed to sustained periods of high heat. Therefore, we recommend a cold wash. To dry, we recommend hanging or a delicate or light cycle in the dryer. You can also steam out wrinkles. It can be pressed with an iron on low heat.

I found myself needing an apron and also wanting to reduce the amount of times of going back and forth from the kitchen to the grill. My invention evolved from the desire to solve this problem. Traditional aprons are nothing more than ill-fitting, functionless smocks. What I needed did not exist.  

Truth be told, I didn’t set out to build a kilt. The GRILLKILT is not a traditional kilt nor a typical apron. I wanted a premium quality apron that had smart storage and serious functionality. The first prototype was a combination of a tool belt, rock climbing gear, and a towel.

GRILLKILT launched less than 2 years ago and we continue to develop new grilling products. Our grilling aprons are designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. and we donate a percentage of our profits to animal welfare.
