FAQs

How does it work?

The battery connects to a built-in heating element layered between the foam and cover, producing even heat across the cushion.

What's the difference between the batteries?

We offer two batteries with the ability to go 3 hours or 6 hours on high, and even longer on lower settings. Both batteries allow you to charge other devices while warming your buns, though it will drain the battery a bit faster. For you battery nerds (like us!) here are the specs: 3+ hour: 10,000 mAh, two input ports (C and micro-USB) and two outputs (USB) 6+ hour: 20,000 mAh, two input ports (C and micro-USB) and two outputs (USB)

How hot does it get?

Up to 125°F, depending on the setting. It reaches full warmth in about two minutes once you sit down.

Is hüga cool for kids?

Yes. Keep it on the low (green) setting for children.

Where are your cushions made?

Hüga are handsewn right here in New England. We are deeply invested in supporting the local economy and creating jobs so more people can enjoy living in this incredible place.

Can I use other batteries?

We recommend the included hüga battery, designed to match the heating element’s amperage safely.

Our Story

Hüga Was Created for Maine Restaurants During the Pandemic, When They Could Only Serve Outside

Like a lot of great ideas, Hüga cushions were inspired by what we wanted for ourselves. In the early days of Covid, when outdoor dining and sitting around the fire pit really started to take off, we realized there weren’t any cushions that could stand up to the new conditions. Restaurants found many creative ways to extend the season, from heat lamps to blankets. We found ourselves wishing for warm seats, and wondering why “they” hadn’t thought of that. We realized we could be “them,” so we made the solution ourselves. Five years later, we've sold thousands of heated cushions and learned that our customers were taking them to games and on outdoor adventures. So we created the hüga go, with all the same heat and durability, in a more portable, modular package.
