FAQs
Does Bijou Mainstay include wood?
No, Bijou Mainstay does not include the wood. You will need to purchase 5x 10ft long 2x4's from your local hardware store. The wood is the least expensive part of the product, but the most expensive to ship, so we utilize the existing network of Lowes or Home Depot to deliver wood right to your door. This also allows us to reduce our carbon footprint because we aren't shipping wood all over the world AND you get the wood that is right for where you live.
Can I leave our Bijou up year round?
You sure can! Bijou uses heavy duty outdoor materials. Our panels are UV resistant and we use powder coated steel and stainless for our metal hardware. You CAN put Bijou away, but you do not NEED to.
Does Bijou get wet?
Our Bijou panels are permeable, so that they don't hold water. They are made using recycled water bottles and an open weave.
How long does it take to assemble the Bijou Build Mainstay?
The initial assembly takes just under an hour with two adults, thanks to its easy-to-follow instructions and intuitive design.
Is the Bijou Build Mainstay safe for children?
Absolutely! The Bijou Build Mainstay is certified to all major safety standards for children's products, including ASTM F963, F1148, EN71-1, and EN71-8.
Can I customize the Bijou Build Mainstay?
Yes! The Bijou Build Mainstay's modular design allows you to arrange the panels in any order that works for your family, and you can also add on accessories like the Bijou Sway Swing and Rambler Rope Bridge.

For safety, the Bijou Build Mainstay must be staked down with 3 ground stakes on each anchor foot. This ensures it remains stable and secure.

Our Story
A Moms Rebellion Against Single Use Play Structures
We created Bijou because we wanted something that was beautiful, sustainable and didn't take up our yard. Bijou is made of recycled material and designed to never need to go into a landfill. We used neutral colors and added 100 LED solar lights for a magical glowing play space. Bijou is easily collapsible so you can move it around or put it away when you want to reclaim your yard. We also know how quickly kids grow, so we wanted to design something that can be used by adults and teens as well. NO single use play structures here!
