Designed to keep cats, dogs and toddlers out of unsafe rooms by locking interior doors in a slightly ajar position (1.5 inch opening) to help protect fingers/tails from door slams and allow fresh air to circulate through.
The door opening can be widened (up to 5 inches opening) to allow cats to pass through the door, while keeping dogs and toddlers out. This helps create a safe cat room for the litter box, cat feeder and nap area.
DOORWING replaces interior cat doors and heavy baby gates. It provides an easier and cheaper solution that will NOT damage your doors! It installs in just seconds without adhesives or drills and can be easily moved from one door to another, or be taken on vacations. Will it fit on my doors?
DOORWING is designed to fit doors 1.2 to 1.8 inches thick. Standard doors in North America are about 1.4 inches thick.
Will it fit on my door frame?
DOORWING is designed to fit door frames up to 8.5 inches thick. Standard door frames in North America are about 5.5 inches thick.
Can I be sure it will work on my doors?
DOORWING works on most interior doors and door frames, but in some cases it may not work well. For example, it may not latch properly onto ultra round or sharply angled door frames.
Can it be used on exterior doors?
No! DOORWING is meant to be used on interior doors only.
Will it damage my doors or door frames?
No. DOORWING is easily installed without the use of tools, screws or adhesives. The soft rubber pads protect the door and door frame surface.
What is the door opening range when the door lock is latched onto the door frame?
The narrowest door opening is 1.5 inches, just enough to help protect hands and tails from door slams, and keep kids, dogs and cats out of unsafe rooms. The widest door opening is about 5 inches, which allows most cats to comfortably fit through the door, while keeping kids and dogs out of the room. NOTE: Users are responsible to make sure the set door opening size is narrow enough to prevent the intended children and/or pets from fitting and passing through the door opening. Adjust accordingly
Can I fully close the door when it is attached?
Full door closure is possible only when DOORWING is in storage position (folded away when not in use) and only where there is a minimum 3-4 mm clearance space between the door's edge and the door frame. DOORWING's metal bracket is 2 mm thick and must easily fit between the door's edge and the door frame for full door closure. If there is less than 3-4 mm of space, please do not attempt to fully close the door with the unit attached, as this may damage your door frame.

Hello, I'm Becky.
I'm the inventor and creator of DOORWING, a product born from my small, family-owned company in Canada. We take pride in manufacturing and shipping all our products locally, ensuring we uphold green practices. By keeping our production local, we reduce our carbon footprint and support local factories and workers. We are committed to using only recyclable materials for our packaging and aim to expand our environmental efforts as our company grows.
The inspiration for DOORWING came from my two children. When my youngest turned 10 months old, he quickly learned to walk and open doors independently. My husband and I soon realized we needed to baby-proof all the doors in our home. Despite our search, we couldn't find any products that didn't require permanent adhesives or drills. The thought of the potential damage to our doors was both frustrating and anxiety-inducing. To my surprise, there were no portable, adhesive-free, drill-free solutions available. That's when the idea for DOORWING struck me like a bolt of lightning!
It took nearly two years to design, engineer, prototype, test, and manufacture the first production-ready units of DOORWING. This process was far more challenging and lengthy than anticipated, as I embarked on this journey just a month before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted everything. I faced delay after delay, making it one of the craziest times to start a new project. Yet, here we are!
The feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Making a positive impact on people's lives is incredibly rewarding, and it's what drives us forward.
