NEXT Landfill-Friendly Pet Waste Bags

The only dog poop bag that reduces plastic in landfills by attracting microbes to eat the plastic.

Say goodbye to the guilt of plastic waste with the NEXT Landfill-Friendly Rolled Bags. Crafted from 65% post-consumer recycled plastic, NEXT Landfill-Friendly pet waste bags are engineered with an exclusive Eco-Accelerated formula that drastically cuts the lifespan of plastic in landfills from 500 years to less than 5 years by attracting microbes to feast on the plastic, speeding up its natural cycle without leaving harmful microplastics. With over 500 million plastic pet waste bags entering landfills in the US every year, we wanted to create a bag that takes this problem head on.

We believe that if plastic does end up in landfills, its natural end-of-life should be drastically shortened to reduce the build-up of plastic waste. So we created NEXT bags to do just that. And NEXT bags are priced the same as typical plastic bags, making them the better, easier choice.

FAQs

Why do we need landfill-friendly bags

We don’t want to see plastic end up in landfills, but when it does, we want to ensure its natural end of life is dramatically accelerated to help reduce the build-up of plastic waste. While home compostable bags are a great option if you put them in your compost at home, they don't break down in landfills. This means over 500 million plastic pet waste bags enter landfills each year. NEXT bags are an affordable option for those who don't compost, but still want to help reduce plastic waste.

Are landfill-friendly bags safe for the environment?

Yes! Landfill-Friendly bags are formulated with Plasgreen, an organic, non-toxic additive used in the manufacturing process. All of the organic compounds contained in Landfill-Friendly bags are considered safe for human contact and have no known adverse health effects. The compounds are also not found on the toxic and potentially harmful substance list of CA Prop 65. This California legislation identifies certain toxic and potentially harmful substances and describes limitations for their use.

Do landfill-friendly bags leave behind microplastics?

No. Unlike plastics that photo-degrade or have harmful OXO additives, Landfill-Friendly bags are formulated to accelerate their natural biodegradation process with no fragmentation or microplastics.

When landfill-friendly bags degrade, what's left behind?

Landfill-Friendly bags biodegrade as a result of microbial digestion. The process of microbial digestion that takes place in anaerobic microbial environments such as landfills, results in humus, carbon dioxide, and methane. The carbon dioxide and methane produced through the process of plastic biodegradation are captured by many landfills and turned into bioenergy.

Have landfill-friendly bags been tested and certified?

Yes, Landfill-Friendly bags have been independently certified by Intertek in landfill conditions and tested to ASTM 5511-02 standards for PE film biodegradation. Plasgreen, the organic, non-toxic additive in our Landfill-Friendly bags is FDA compliant, Toy Safety Standards compliant and meets EU REACH, RoHS and ESFA apparel requirements.

Are landfill-friendly bags a bioplastic?

No. Bioplastic refers to the source of the material. Plastic substitutes made from natural materials such as food waste are bioplastics. Landfill-Friendly bags are formulated with Plasgreen, an additive for traditional plastic (including recycled plastic) that accelerates the biodegradation of the plastic in landfill conditions.

Are landfill-friendly bags compostable?

No. Landfill-Friendly bags are not compostable. While they will accelerate biodegradation under microbe-rich anaerobic conditions like landfills, they will not biodegrade quickly enough to be considered compostable for home or industrial composting.

Are landfill-friendly bags leak-proof?

Yes! Landfill-Friendly bags were designed to be 100% leak proof and durable while being easy on the planet and your wallet!

Will landfill-friendly bags fall apart?

No. Landfill-Friendly bags are only designed to assist micro-organisms in consuming the plastic in anaerobic conditions (no oxygen) and microbe-rich environments such as landfills.

What is the best way to dispose of landfill-friendly pet waste bags?

Landfill-Friendly bags are engineered for landfills, so you can put these bags in with your regular garbage.

Our Story

A Family Owned Business on a Mission to "Do Good" for People, Pets and the Planet

We established Doggy Do Good in 2015 as a mom & pop (and pup!) run business in Royal Oak, Michigan. After rescuing a pup named Olive and a "foster-failure" named Annie, we decided rescuing just wasn't enough. The idea of giving back to animal rescues and sanctuaries on a larger scale was the ultimate goal—and to get there, the vision for Doggy Do Good was brought to life. We're proud to be a pet supply company with purpose: where every purchase gives back to the organizations that so desperately need it. Our furry companions aren’t just pets—they’re our best friends! Donating to organizations that help the other Olives and Annies of the world is just one small (yet powerful) way we can thank them for making life better.
