Not in love? That’s fine! If you change your mind about the products you purchased from us online, we will refund the purchase price, or exchange those products, subject to the following conditions:

1. Products purchased from lickimat.com, including sale items can be returned at any time within 30 days of purchase by the customer with proof of purchase;
2. Items must be in original sale condition (unworn, unwashed, or otherwise unused with original tags/labels attached). 
3. The returned items must not be gift cards or used items.
4. Due to strict quarantine laws, we are unable to receive goods that have been clearly used from outside Australia.
5. All refunds will be returned to the original forms of payment, otherwise an exchange or online store credit will be issued;
6. You may be asked to provide personal details for returns or exchanges. These details will be used only for the purpose of processing the return.

What is LickiMat Splash designed for?

It is designed as a bathing and grooming distractor that sticks to flat smooth surfaces, helping keep pets focused while they lick their favorite treats.

Can it help with anxiety or boredom?

Yes. The product information says it helps reduce anxiety, stress, boredom, and destructive behavior by encouraging repetitive licking.

What foods can I use with it?

You can use wet food, soaked kibble, yogurt, healthy spreads, diluted peanut butter, pâté, baby food, dog smoothies, canned fish, toppers, and raw food.

Can I freeze treats on it?

Yes. It is freezer safe, and the product information suggests freezing diluted peanut butter for longer-lasting licking fun.

Is it safe for food use?

Yes. It is made from non-toxic food-grade natural rubber and contains no BPA, PVC, phthalates, or silicone.

How do I clean it?

It is dishwasher safe. Shake it dry after washing.

The LickiMat story begins in Australia long before the LickiMat with the OH Bowl. We had been working with two vets to design a product to improve the Oral Hygiene and Oral Health (hence OH) of our dog.

The portion of vet costs associated with pet dental work had been increasing for lots of reasons and was a serious health issue that needed to be addressed. We worked on two principles: stimulating the tongue to produce more saliva that in turn leads to healthier teeth and gums; and scraping the tongue to reduce undigested food particles and odor-causing bacteria.

The solution was similar to humans - when your dentist tells you to scrape your tongue using the back of your toothbrush or a tongue scraper, but you forget to do so most of the time! No forgetting with OH Bowl as the tongue is naturally scraped at the end of every meal without requiring extra effort from the pet guardian.

The dogs absolutely loved the OH Bowl and would continue to the lick the OH Bowl even when there was no food left.  The special rubber design was stimulating and pleasurable to the dogs' tongues!

The LickiMat range takes the same principles and applies them to the entire rubber surface of the mat.  It challenges the dog or cat to lick in order get the reward that has been spread onto the LickiMat.  This resulted in a lot of licking, a lot of interest and fun!   The licking action also produces endorphins that soothe and calm your pet, and it is now recognised as a leading anti-anxiety tool.

As dogs and dog trainers started using LickiMats and experimenting, we discovered dozens of new uses for LickiMats and developed new models based on feedback.  

More amazingly, we started hearing stories and seeing posts on social media of cats using LickiMats, so we explored this with our vets and perfected LickiMat designs to suit cats - we now have more than 30 unique products and 420+ variantions in total.  It turned out that cats like licking too, and that the licking action releases endorphins in cats too.  We discovered that many cats also suffered from eating too fast or anxiety, and their human companions were looking for solutions and ways to enrich their cats' lives.

All the licking action in cats and dogs was creating more saliva and helping protect their teeth and gums, and freshening their breath by scraping odour-causing bacteria off their tongues.  We find that it generally takes 3-4 days of using a LickiMat to notice an improvement in breath.
