What is the Pup Puck Bonez made of?

Made out of a tough yet flexible TPU material that is non-toxic, long-lasting and safe for dogs to chew on.

What is TPU?

TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane: It’s an extremely strong yet pliable material used for high performance and high stress products. It is most often used by medical device companies and dog toys.

How does the Pup Puck wear over time?

We don’t believe in indestructible toys. If toys are completely unable to breakdown, dogs wouldn’t be interested plus it could cause damage to teeth. The ideal chew toy is one that wears down slowly over time like the Pup Puck. It is normal for the Pup Puck to shed small eraser-like shavings while being chewed but if large excessive chunks are taken off or all lobes are chewed down then it is best to retire and recycle. We recommend monitoring your dog while playing with to ensure proper chewing

How long does the Pup Puck last?

It depends on the dog, anxiety level and chewing style. We’ve heard of super aggressive chewers chewing within a week (most owners were shocked it lasted longer than a day) while other less aggressive but strong chewers will chew within 3+ months. The average chew cycle is about 1.5-2 months but again it really depends on the dog. Our golden retriever who loves to chew isn’t necessarily an aggressive chewer - she has yet to completely destroy any thus lasting her years with teeth marks all over

How durable is the Pup Puck?

We like to call it the Goldilocks of Chew Toys: durable enough to outlast most other toys yet pliable enough to be safe to chew on for a long time. In terms of chew toys: it is more durable than a Black Kong X-treme but not as hard as a Nyla bone.

What to stuff in the Pup Puck?

Whatever your dog loves! Our favorite items to stuff in the convenient center slot are: soft chew-treats, blueberries, kibble, cheese, or CBD treats. We cover both sides of stuffed center with: peanut butter, yogurt, canned pumpkin or mashed banana, then stick in the freezer for an hour to solidify for an even more enjoyable chew experience. We often do this before taking our dog out with us to breweries or restaurants, giving to her once we arrive so she's preoccupied while we enjoy ourselves.

How do you clean the Pup Puck?

Unlike other popular stuffable dog chew and enrichment toys, the Pup Puck is extremely easy to clean! Simply rinse off and/or stick into the dishwasher. If a stubborn center treat won’t come out, put in dishwasher first then use a paper clip or tooth pick to easily push treat out.

What is The Pup Puck’s original purpose?

Our family business is in irrigation manufacturing. The Pup Puck’s origin is a part of an irrigation component nicknamed the Puck, that helps to make the drive-shaft of center-pivots move around farming fields to help water crops like corn and soy beans. It is specially engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions and designed to last in the fields for at least 5 years hence why the quality and durability are top notch. Our family dogs have been chewing on Pucks for over 20 years!

Our Story

An irrigation part called a Puck made at our family business became our dog's new favorite chew toy

Hello! I’m Kelly - owner and founder of The Pup Puck: the ultimate chew toy for dogs. Our product started out as an ah-ha moment when an Uncle at our family business gave an irrigation sample part called a Puck to his dog. The dog instantly started to chew on and carried it everywhere she went - becoming her new favorite toy. We chuckled in disbelief and passed out Pucks to all of our family and friends with dogs and the response was the same! Fast forward to years later with thousands of dogs taste-test approval, we redesigned our irrigation tooling to look more like a dog toy. Same great toy, with the same non-toxic and pet-safe material. We've kept this now not-so family secret to ourselves long enough, I’d like to introduce to you the Pup Puck Bonez - your dogs new favorite chew toy!
