Our Story
Our name was inspired by the Noatak river in Alaska's Gates of the Arctic National Park, renowned as one of the last pristine, wild and undisturbed rivers in North America. We design gear that stands up to the same remote and demanding environment that influences us.
Outdoor's People
Nuataaq is built from a deep love for the wild. Our team came together as friends through a shared passion for the outdoors. The goal was to make gear for all of our lifestyles.
Canoepacking
Long distance canoe trips was the niche that brought us together. Trips paddling and portaging made us think heavily about maximizing function from any one piece of gear.
Gear as an Obsession
Talk around the campfire would inevitably turn to gear. Often times the conversation was how we could improve the details about the gear we had.
True Believers in Purpose
If we were going to make gear it was going to be extremely purposeful. 5% For Lands & Lives and our BIFL ideology are our ways of supporting the places and people that make the outdoors.
Homebrew Engineering
We want to do every step the right way. We prototyped the Carabiner Bottle in a simple garage workshop. Countless iterations of carabiners, deconstructing steel thickness, and drop testing until we exceeded every benchmark.

We want to build the best bottles the best gear, for outdoors people. Through focus on innovation and performance, we want to incrementally improve gear and maximize function.
We obsessively engineer and test our products to bring the best in backcountry utility. The Carabiner Bottle was the result of two years of pushing ourselves to build the best bottle for the outdoors, designed to never leave your side.
