Her worries were justified: Cornelia's son Jake, who has autism and battled leukemia, regularly became ill after air travel. A seasoned CNBC journalist, Barbara investigated and discovered that airplane tray tables are rarely sanitized and that passengers' use of disinfectant wipes contributes exponentially to landfill waste. They embarked on a journey to create a stylish eco-friendly alternative to shield passengers from germs and bacteria.
